Chair of Urbanism
The chair focuses primarily on urban planning and design, as well as the development and arrangement of cities and smaller settlements. The activities programme, events and annual activities organized by the chair demonstrate its continuous consideration and responsiveness to current spatial issues and key challenges for modern development of cities, countryside, and settlements. In tackling these, the chair makes use of multiple perspectives from various professional, research and artistic fields.

Chair members, who are responsible for the urbanism programme at the Faculty of Architecture, actively practice and further their knowledge by participating in various activities, professional and scientific conferences, symposiums, international and national urbanism competitions, as well as professional developmental projects. Through such participation they also support the internationalization of Slovenian higher education. Several chair members actively contribute popular, professional and theoretical writings for various publications. In 2013, the achievements and activities of the chair’s members culminated in the creation of the online magazine Igra ustvarjalnosti (“The Creativity Game”).
In addition to everything covered under the students’ study programmes, the chair organizes workshops (including international ones), professional excursions, and interdisciplinary projects. So as to improve urbanism studies, annual consultation meetings are also organized, both between educators and other chairs of the faculty, as well as the wider professional and scientific publics, emphasizing the connecting of different fields.
