Progression to a Higher Year
Doctoral Programme in Architecture (DRŠA)
Conditions for Progression to a Higher Year (in Accordance with the Accredited Study Programme)
From Year 1 to Year 2
- a completed general module,
- a prepared written and oral presentation of the doctoral study plan; the presentation is considered completed when the plan is confirmed by both the Committee for Doctoral Studies and the Faculty of Architecture Senate,
- a minimum of 45 ECTS in Year 1.
From Year 2 to Year 3
- completed architectural and the interdisciplinary modules,
- a prepared written and oral presentation of the doctoral study plan; the presentation is considered completed, when the plan is confirmed by the Committee for Doctoral Studies, the Committee for Doctoral Student Monitoring, and the Faculty of Architecture Senate.
- a minimum of 60 ECTS in Year 1.
From Year 3 to Year 4:
- a progress report of research results, presented at a doctoral seminar or conference,
- an approved doctoral research topic at the University of Ljubljana,
- a minimum of 120 ECTS.
Conditions for Suspension of Student Status
Students have the right to request their student status be suspended, in the event that they have justifiable reasons for not completing study obligations. Justifiable reasons are: disabilities, illnesses (a medical certificate from a personal doctor, which indicates an inability for academic work for at least half of the academic year), parenthood in the past three academic years, extraordinary familial or social circumstances in the past three years (opinion from the Social Work Centre indicating an inability for academic work), or the status of a top athlete or a recognized artist in the past academic year. Approval for exceptional enrolment is granted by the Committee for Doctoral Studies at UL FA.
