The course examines contemporary architectural production in its social context, i.e. in its relationship to the economic, political, technological and cultural factors of its particular context. Its starting point is that a necessary condition for understanding architecture is its comprehensively developed theory of architecture.
The course develops a network of some of the fundamental concepts and approaches of architectural theory that enable questions to be answered, such as: what is architecture, how can it exist and function in its own particular space and time, etc.
