The elective courses (list of Urbanism courses) must be registered in ŠIS by: 9 October 2020.
The criteria on the recognition of the knowledge obtained, including that of elective courses, are based on the content (when in doubt whether the selected whether the course is a Bachelor's or Master's course).
he student is required to complete 60 credits per academic year (minimum per year), but additional content may be registered in the electronic student’s transcript (the application to recognise these courses is submitted to the Academic Affairs Commission). For all additional content, please use the form for elective courses of the University of Ljubljana provided below, where the form purpose is highlighted (extracurricular, mobility, additional content, etc.).

As part of UL’s elective courses, the student is free to choose a course from any study programme at UL.
Changes concerning elective courses require the approval of the Academic Affairs Commission, based on the application submitted.
Please ensure that you complete the required number of ECTS credits achieved in elective courses.
PUŠU – 2nd year = 6 ects
PUŠU – 3rd year = 5 ects (Urbanism list) + 10 ects (external elective courses, from other study programmes, e.g. EMŠA)
DMŠU – 1st year = 6 ects (Urbanism list)
DMŠU – 2nd year = 6 ects (external elective courses, from other study programmes, e.g. EMŠA)
Note: The elective course Urban Design Workshop (at PUŠU or DMŠU) can be selected only once and shall be registered as an elective course from the Urbanism study programme group.
APPLICATION DEADLINE TO MASTER’S STUDY PROGRAMME IN URBANISM
Application deadline: (_____ for enrolemnt s. year 2021/22 the date will be published till april 2021). After the expiration of the application deadline (pre-registration does not count as enrolment), applications for enrolment in the study programme in the current year can no longer be accepted. All the necessary enclosures for the students enrolled in the First-Cycle University Study Programme in Urbanism are kept by the UL FA Student Affairs Office, other students must submit the enclosures (the date will be published till april 2021), according to the list. ...more
Enrolment in the Second-Cycle Master’s Study Programme in Urbanism for all applicants: the date will be published till april 2021. If the student does not enrol on the date specified, his/her application is deemed to be withdrawn.

UDC WITH DIPLOMA/MASTER’S THESES
At least 10 days before submitting the thesis for review, please send a request via email to the library to be assigned an UDC (attach the table of contents and the first pages of the thesis; the text does not need to be completed and can be changed further). The UDC must be included in the bound copy of the thesis, but it is not required when submitting the thesis for review.

SUBMISSION OF THE DIPLOMA/MASTER’S THESIS FOR REVIEW BY THE ACADEMIC AFFAIRS COMMISSION
The submission of the diploma/master’s thesis for review starts by submitting the form Diploma/Master’s Thesis Review Approval. Submit the completed and signed form (PUŠU, DMŠU – signed by the supervisor) to the Student Affairs Office at least three days prior to the submission deadline for thesis review; the dates are set and published for each academic year.
On the date set for the review of the diploma/master’s thesis, submit one copy of the thesis and the personal portfolio to the Thesis Revision Committee. On the same day, the Committee gives its opinion and suggests corrections, amendments, etc.
DEFENCE OF THE DIPLOMA/MASTER’S THESIS
Following the approval of the diploma/master’s thesis by the Review and Defence Committee, the date and timeline for completion of studies are prescribed, which includes an exhibition and defence of the diploma/master’s thesis. The exhibition shall be set up four days before the defence date, following the Committee’s instructions. The exhibition takes place as provided for in the Rules (2 posters + a model).
The defence of the diploma/master’s thesis includes the following: thesis presentation according to the Rules and instructions (15 minutes for the diploma thesis, 25 minutes for the Master’s thesis). The student brings three bound copies of the thesis (+ a copy for the co-supervisor), the personal portfolio, and a CD containing the thesis in PDF format to the defence.
PERSONAL PORTFOLIO
The personal portfolio should express the quality of your work concerned with urbanism. The following is particularly important: selection of projects and assignments concerned with urban design, organisation of sheets, textual works can be presented as well; graphical consistency of the works. Photos, hobbies, products, extracurricular works may be included.

Dialogue between students’ representatives and UL management led to amendment of the UL Statute (Official Gazette of the RS, No. 56/2017), which entered into force on 14 October 2017, with the following explanation added in Article 202: "The provision of Article 128 shall not apply to those students who passed all their exams and to students who have passed all the exams and completed all other obligations of the study programme in the time prior to losing the status of the student, but who did not submit the final work, if not more than two years have passed since the loss of the student status, provided that they have handed in the final work by 1 October 2019."

The annex to the Contract is a certificate of the mentor's education.
The working mentor must have an education in the field of urbanism or related science, at least 8 level (SOK; According to the Law on the Slovenian Qualifications Framework, 2016).
Confirmed and finaly checked contract has to be delivered to the Student Affairs Office to mrs. Danijeli Šinkovec.

DMŠU – only a Practice Confirmation Letter is required, to be submitted to the study practice coordinator.
You may apply to complete your practical placement with the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning of the RS, Urbanistični inštitut RS, or Ljubljanski urbanistični zavod.

You can do your practical placement, per individual agreement, in other institutions as well (municipalities, design studios, etc.).
