Biografija

Diplomiral na Fakulteti za arhitekturo v Ljubljani leta 1988. Do leta 1993 je delal kot samostojni arhitekt, med 1993 in 1997 pa kot asistent na FA v Ljubljani. Leta 1996 je skupaj z Boštjanom Vuga ustanovil arhitekturni biro SADAR+VUGA. Le ta se je v zadnjih petnajstih letih osredotočal na odprto, inovativno in integralno arhitekturno oblikovanje in urbanizem. Biro stremi h kvaliteti in močnem prepričanju, da progresivna arhitektura prispeva k družbenemu napredku in blagostanju, ter hkrati širi našo domišljijo, draži naše čute, da se odzivamo nanjo.
Jurij Sadar je predaval na številnih arhitekturnih šolah, konferencah in simpozijih po Sloveniji in v tujini, med drugim na Piranskih dnevih arhitekture (Slovenija, 1998), SCI-ARCH (Los Angeles, 2001), na Univerzi v Zagrebu (Hrvaška, 2002), v Cankarjevem domu (Ljubljana, 2003), New Trends of Architecture (Tokio, Melbourne, 2004-2005), na UCLA, Oddelek za arhitekturo in urbanizem (Los Angeles, 2007), Skulptur Projekte (Munster, 2007), Formula New Ljubljana (Peking, 2008), BauWelt (Munchen, 2009), na Fakulteti za arhitekturo (Ljubljana, 2010) in na Malta Design Week (Malta, 2011), Nancy (2013), Changsha Hunan (2014).

Jurij Sadar je izredni profesor na Fakulteti za Arhitekturo v Ljubljani.

Za svoje delo je prejel številne nagrade, med drugim Platinasti in Zlati svinčnik (2011 in 2009), Župančičevo nagrado (2011), Interanational Architecture Award 2009, Trend Prize (2005), Eccs Steel Design Award (2003), Bauwelt Prize (2001). Piranesi Award (1999) in druge.



Biography

Graduated at the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana (1987), and worked as an independent architect until 1993. From 1993 to 1997 he worked as assistant professor at the same faculty. In 1996 Boštjan Vuga and him cofounded architectural office SADAR+VUGA. Over the past fifteen years it has focused on open, innovative and integral architectural design and urban planning. The office has been driven by a quest for quality, with a strong belief that forward-leaping architectural production contributes to our well-being, and generates a sensitive and responsive development of the physical context we live in, broadening our imagination and stimulating our senses.
Jurij lectures at architectural schools, conferences and symposia in Slovenia and abroad, among others Piran Days of Architecture (Slovenia, 1998), SCI - ARCH (Los Angeles, 2001), University of Zagreb (Croatia, 2002), Cankarjev dom Ljubljana (Slovenia, 2003), New trends of Architecture (Tokyo, Melbourne, 2004-2005), UCLA, Department of Architecture and Urban Design (Los Angeles, 2007), Skulptur Projekte (Munster, 2007), Formula New Ljubljana (Bejing, 2008), BauWelt (Munich 2009), Faculty of Architecture (Ljubljana, 2010), and Malta Design Week (Malta, 2011), Nancy (2013), Changsha Hunan (2014).

Jurij Sadar is currently associate professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana.

He received numerous awards for his work, including Platinum and Golden Pencile (2011 in 2009), Župančič award (2011), Interanational Architecture Award 2009, Trend Prize (2005), Eccs Steel Design Award (2003), Bauwelt Prize (2001). Piranesi Award (1999) and others.
